Vincent spotted her perched on the bench, eyes cast down towards the book with a band of sunlight crossing her forearm. He let out a breathy sigh and kissed the back of her neck, smile gentle and arched. He had been so preoccupied over the past couple of weeks that he’d not been able to see his trophy lover nearly as much as she would have liked, even through all of her schoolwork— and perhaps he’d even missed her. But now his own chaos had subsided and her term was finished, they had the time to complete their abandoned plans from weeks before and spend some well-deserved time together. His chin rested on her shoulder and he whispered his words. “Ada, will you put that book down for me?”

Of course Ada had been so engrossed in her book, that she hadn’t heard the sound of the approaching footsteps. It wasn’t until she heard a sigh right next to her ear, followed by the lips that spoke honey coated words and knew how to turn the girl to putty whenever they touched any part of her. She jostled a bit, but only from the unexpected touch. Her first reaction was to turn around and look at him, but upon the quick realization of who it was, Ada’s eyes and face fell. It’d been weeks since she’d last heard from him, let alone seen him, so the overassumptive blonde had convinced herself that he no longer wanted to see her, and his silence was his proof. She closed the book like he asked, but beyond that she did not move.
