dukeofvessalius:

It had been by coincidence that Oscar had found out, call it being in the wrong place at the wrong time, but truly, had it really been bad? It was better now that he knew who was the little leech who was trying to court his precious niece, and to know it was such a man…

Not that he disliked Vincent, he found it to be a quite intriguing young man to be honest, but he did have quite a reputation with women and as such he had to be taken with wariness. Ada was, after all, still very naive when it came to love and the last thing he wanted was for her to be hurt.

And if there was something he was sure of that was: Vincent Nightray was not someone whom you could trust when it came to love.

Normally he would’ve exploded in a fit of rage, but he was far too shocked to do anything of the sort, and after the Gil fiasco he’d learnt better than to vent out  his rage out on the first poor chap who crossed his path. But first he had to be sure, then, he could think about the better way to proceed.

“I…see..:” nodding his head he tried to remain calm, even though deep inside he wanted to go find that sleazy rat himself, but he knew better than to start a new conflict between Nightrays and Vessalius “How…when…how!?“

Ada knew perfectly well of the conflicts between the Nightray and Vessalius households, she’d learned that a long time ago with her meeting Elliot for the first time and subsequently seeing his negative reaction to her surname.

While Oscar might be more informed of the reputation that proceeded Vincent, but unfortunately for him, but fortunately for Vincent, Ada wasn’t. She knew her uncle would be overprotective of her in regards to the relationship for obvious reasons, but little did she know that there was an underlying one that even Oscar wasn’t fully sure of himself. Vincent was someone who had a lot about himself kept in secret after all.

But Ada was grateful that her uncle hadn’t exploded yet, though it wasn’t to say he couldn’t as she elaborated more on her relationship thus far with the Nightray, which luckily for both of them wasn’t much yet, but still. Drawing in a deep breath, Ada did her best not to shrink down and appear to nervous, despite the fact that she was. Best to focus instead on thinking about Vincent himself, that would serve as a good temporary distraction.

We were introduced at a party a couple weeks before I sent you the letter mentioning him. After he found out who I was we spent some time talking, and he’s visited me at Lutwidge a couple times…..
